One of the interesting twists on vampire mythology is that dead man's blood can be put on any stabby weapon, not just wood, and it has the effect of making the vampire sick or incapacitated.

That's something that Anne Rice has used. If you remember Interview, the little girl (name?)tricked Lestat into drinking from a dead child, and it nearly destroyed him. That was pulled straight from the book.

Yup--good call, both of you. Of course we knew you aren't supposed to drink past the heartbeat slowing down.
In Andy Warhol's version, drinking blood that isn't from a virgin will make you sick. It's consistent with Stoker's privileging of babies' blood.
